Eat Up! Marvelous Menus at Melrose
Let’s be real: Food can make or break a big event. If it’s good, guests will long remember it; if it’s bad, well, they’ll remember that too. That’s why we put great care and attention into making our catering menus delicious and accessible for all palates and events (from a wedding to business event to a friendly gathering no matter the occasion), with a range of dishes—whether buffet-style, passed hors d’oeuvres, or seated dinners. Let’s dig into the various food items and packages we offer at Melrose Knitting Mill.
Hors D’oeuvres
If you’re just looking for some passed snacks to offer to guests during a casual gathering—or you need something to satiate your guests before the main meal—our hors d’oeuvres are a great option! Our selections vary in cuisine and flavor—from Southern-inspired selects to Italian, Mexican, and beyond. Choose from crostini toasts topped with roasted garlic mushrooms, pimento or goat cheese, or tomato and mozzarella bruschetta; or handhelds like mini biscuit sandwiches, sliders, and mini chicken tacos. Additional finger food-friendly options include risotto croquettes, shrimp cocktail, meatballs, and bacon-wrapped dates. In short, there’s plenty to go around!

Buffet Dinner Packages
Buffets are a great casual way to serve guests without having to worry about strict seating arrangements or exact serving times. And they allow everyone to fill up with however much they want, whenever they want. Seconds, thirds, and fourths welcome! Our two dinner buffet packages each include three passed hors d’oeuvres, a plated salad, two proteins, two sides, and bread service. The Oak Package includes standard salads like Caesar and mixed greens; mains such as herb-rubbed pork chops, braised beef brisket, and rigatoni Bolognese; plus sides like mac and cheese, roasted fingerling potatoes, and mixed seasonal vegetables.
Our Dogwood Package is a little more robust, with your choice of wedge, bistro, or fetard salads. Mains include an interactive prime rib carving station, chicken masala, and shrimp and grits—plus the same side options as the Oak package, in addition to mashed potatoes.
Plated Dinner Packages
Plated dinners are a classic serving style for intimate, classy events. Our packages include three passed hors d’oeuvres, a salad, three entree selections, two sides, and bread service. Building on our buffet menus, these packages also include the likes of crab cakes, caprese and spinach salads, roasted salmon, pan-seared New York strip, Chilean sea bass, and herb-roasted pork loin.

Station Package
For those who are looking to have a little fun at mealtime and incorporate some unique food options, we also offer station packages—from a slider station offering such handhelds as BBQ pork sliders, chicken biscuits, and mini burgers to a mashed potato bar with regular or sweet potatoes and a variety of sweet and savory toppings to a mac and cheese station with various fixins’ (think crumbled bacon, green onions, diced tomatoes, jalapeños, panko bread crumbs, and hot sauce).
We also offer a taco station with your choice of shredded chicken or ground beef and corn and flour tortillas; an American station with classics like bacon-wrapped pork loin, roasted prime rib, and NC pork BBQ and mac and cheese; and a Mediterranean station featuring chicken, lamb, or beef skewers and sides like tabouli, hummus, tzatziki, baba ghannouj and pita, and seasoned rice.
