2023 Wedding Trends

New year, new trends! This past year we saw a lot of alternative altars, light blue, natural elements, grand tent entrances, and more at weddings—but in 2023 experts expect a slew of new trends that will no doubt raise the bar. Here’s your trend forecast for the new year to get you inspired!

Small Bouquets

Gone are the days of elaborate bouquets that inevitably weigh the bride down! In 2023, brides are expected to turn instead to petite floral arrangements of delicate blooms like lilac and lavender that are sure to still make a statement, but won’t be as much of a hassle.

‘Grammers have already taken to posting blurry photos that capture realistic, authentic moments—and brides and grooms are anticipated to do the same in the new year on their wedding day. Think: a candid shot of the kiddos running around the lawn or the bride gettin’ down with her fam on the dance floor.

Brides are no doubt getting tired to sitting in the salon chair for hours on end to craft a perfectly coiffed bun. In 2023, you’ll see more low-key styles that don’t require a ton of work—and time!—but are still nonetheless beautiful. Barrets and other fun details are sure to make a comeback too to add a little bit of character!

We knew the day would come when traditional white wedding dresses would go out of style! Okay, they’re not out of style yet, but in 2023 you’ll see more pastel dresses, bridal gowns with floral details and patterns/lace, and more.

Mismatched Bridesmaid Dresses

When it comes to bridal dresses, brides have recently been choosing one color and letting the wedding party choose their own style. Next year, industry experts predict the brides will give more freedom and perhaps have a range of mismatched styles, colors, patterns, etc.—all within the same theme, of course.

No Cake

We’ve already seen many couples opt for nontraditional desserts on their special day, like cupcakes, a doughnut wall, or a whole spread of little desserts that aren’t cake. Expect this trend to take off in 2023 with even more creative options!
