The Best Color Schemes for Winter Weddings ❄️

Winter weddings can be highly underrated—though some people really do prefer the cold weather to the hot (and who doesn’t love not having to worry about looking sweaty or flushed in photos?!). A winter wedding allows you to do a host of things that you couldn’t do during a summer/spring wedding, like firepits or dramatic outerwear. Besides, what bride and groom wouldn’t love the excuse to cozy up to each other in the cold?!

Of course, a good color scheme is important for any wedding. During the wintertime, you can either choose to lean into the dark and moody colors you typically associate with the season or brighten things up. See some of our favorite winter wedding color palettes below to get inspired!

Winter Blues

There’s no feeling blue on your wedding day, but a cool blue color scheme is definitely appropriate for winter! Play around with different shades of blue for the best effect—try a robin egg and blue-gray combo, or a navy and lighter blue hue.

Mauve and Grey

This subtle, understated color combo is great for those looking for a neutral color palette that still pops. Not to mention mauve bridesmaids’ dresses + grey tuxes = stunning!

Neutral Whites/Greys or Beiges

There’s nothing more appropriate for a winter wedding than a white color palette—bonus points if it snows on your wedding day! An all-white wedding is timeless, but you can easily incorporate some neutral greys or beiges if you’re looking for some subtle contrast.

Teal and Berry Red

A play on classic Christmas colors (teal taking place of green and berry taking place of bright red), this jewel-toned color palette makes a bold statement without looking tacky. It’s great for brides/grooms looking to mix things up and keep it fun!

Black and Gold

Now if you really want to go bold, try a dramatic black and gold color combo—also perfect for couples planning a wedding around New Year’s Eve!
